Custom MCP Server Development
Model Context Protocol (MCP) developers in Sydney & Canberra
Connect your data to AI agents securely. We build custom MCP servers, and Claude and ChatGPT connectors, so your team can use AI with the systems you already run. Access controls are built in and your MCP server is hosted in Australia.
What is an MCP server?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools and data. Anthropic, the maker of Claude, released it in late 2024 and it has since been adopted across the industry, including by OpenAI, Google and Microsoft.
An MCP server sits in front of one of your systems and gives AI a specific menu of actions it's allowed to take, such as finding a customer, checking a balance or running a report. It doesn't hand AI the keys to everything. Every request is checked against who is asking and what they're permitted to do.
Why not just use our API?
Your API was designed for developers. An MCP server describes your tools in a way AI agents understand, adds per-user sign-in, and limits AI to the actions you choose. If you already have an API, the MCP server usually sits on top of it, so there's no need to rebuild what works.
As MCP developers in Sydney and Canberra, we design, build, host and support custom MCP servers for Australian businesses. Our MCP developers are part of our wider AI development team, so the same people can also build the assistant or AI features that use your server.
MCP development services
From a single Claude connector to MCP servers across several systems, we connect AI to the software and data your business already uses.
Custom MCP server development
We design and build MCP servers around your systems and workflows, exposing only the tools and data your team needs.
Custom Claude connectors
Add your own systems to Claude as a custom connector. Staff sign in with their Microsoft or Google account, and Claude only sees what they can see.
ChatGPT connectors
The same MCP server works in ChatGPT, so your team can use the AI tool they prefer without a second build.
Connect your existing software
Connect AI to your SaaS platform, internal software or database through its API, or directly to your data where that fits better. Read-only by default.
Reports and lookups on request
Staff ask for a report or a record in plain English and get answers that use the same calculations as your dashboards.
Hosting and support in Australia
We host your MCP server on AWS or Azure in Australia and support it after launch.
MCP servers and connectors we've built
-
Private-credit lender A Claude connector for the loan book
Staff wanted fast answers about loans, investors and balances without waiting for a report. We built a secure connector that lets staff use Claude directly with their own Microsoft login. It can produce IRR, LVR and funding reports on request. Answers use the same calculations as the dashboard, and all processing stays in Australia.
-
BriskCMS An MCP-only content management system
BriskCMS is a CMS with no interface. Websites are edited directly from Claude or ChatGPT. Every change is made as a draft with a preview link and only goes live when you say publish. Design, layout and code are locked, you control who can publish, and every version is saved so any change can be rolled back.
Connect your data to AI agents securely
Giving AI access to business systems only works if you can trust what it can see and do. We build that control into every MCP server from the start:
- AI only sees what the signed-in user is allowed to see.
- Access is read-only by default, and any change needs a person to confirm it.
- Each MCP server exposes a specific list of actions, not open access to your system.
- Text from customers and documents is treated as untrusted, which protects against prompt injection.
- Per-user sign-in gives you an audit trail of who used AI and when.
Keep your data in Australia
We host MCP servers in Australia on AWS or Azure. Most of our AI solutions run on Claude through AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry in Sydney and Melbourne, so prompts and data are processed in Australia. Where you need it, we lock this down with policies that block AI use outside Australia.
How we build your MCP server
- Free consult and discovery. We talk through the systems you want AI to work with, who will use it and what they need it to do.
- Scope the tools and data. We agree exactly which actions AI can take and which data it can see. We start read-only and add actions that change data only where a person confirms them.
- Build and test. We build your MCP server and test it in the AI tools your team uses, including Claude and ChatGPT, against real examples of the questions and tasks your staff have.
- Security review. We check sign-in, permissions and prompt injection protection before anyone relies on it.
- Deploy and hand over. We host the server in Australia, add it to your team’s AI tools as a connector and support it after launch.
MCP server development FAQs
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside tools and data. An MCP server is the piece of software that sits in front of your system and gives AI a specific menu of actions it's allowed to take, such as looking up a record or running a report. Every request is checked against who is asking and what they're permitted to do.
What's the difference between a Claude connector and an MCP server?
A Claude connector is how an MCP server shows up inside Claude. We build the MCP server, then your team adds it to Claude as a custom connector. Because MCP is a standard, the same server can also be used from ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI tools.
Can you build a ChatGPT connector?
Yes. ChatGPT supports connectors built on MCP, so the MCP servers we build work in ChatGPT as well as Claude.
Can an MCP server connect to our existing software or database?
Yes. That's what most of our MCP work involves. We connect to your existing software through its API, or directly to your data where that's the better fit, and expose only the actions your team needs. Read-only access is the default.
Does our data stay in Australia?
It can. We host MCP servers in Australia on AWS or Azure, and most of our AI solutions run on Claude through AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry in Sydney and Melbourne. Where you need it, we lock this down with policies that block AI use outside Australia.
Do our staff need new logins?
No. Staff sign in with their existing Microsoft or Google accounts, so you don't have another set of passwords to manage and access follows the permissions you already have.
How do we get started?
Start with a free 30-minute consult. We'll talk through the systems you want AI to work with, what your team needs it to do, and whether an MCP server is the right fit before you commit. Contact us to book a time.
